Pier Ferdinando Casini, born in 1955, is an Italian politician. First elected to the Camera dei Deputati in 1983, he served as Presidente della Camera from 2001 to 2006. He was secretary of the Centro Cristiano Democratico, founder of the UDC, and president of the Unione Interparlamentare. He held positions in the foreign affairs and defense committees, with a focus on international relations. Since 2018, he has served as an independent senator.
