Nicola Lagioia

Nicola Lagioia, born in Bari in 1973, debuted with the novel Tre sistemi per sbarazzarsi di Tolstoj (2001), followed by Occidente per principianti and Riportando tutto a casa (Viareggio Prize 2010). He won the Strega Prize in 2015 with La ferocia, a novel exploring the mechanisms of economic and familial power. In 2020, he published La città dei vivi, a narrative investigation into the Varani murder case in Rome. From 2017 to 2023, he directed the Turin International Book Fair. He writes for La Repubblica and collaborates with Radio 3 on cultural programs.
