Maurizio Molinari

Maurizio Molinari, born in Rome in 1964, is a journalist and essayist. He began his career at La Voce Repubblicana in 1984 and joined La Stampa in 1997, where he served as correspondent from Brussels, New York, and Jerusalem. From 2016 to 2020, he was editor-in-chief of La Stampa, and then of la Repubblica until 2024. He is the author of over twenty books on foreign affairs and society, including Il Califfato del terrore (2015), Il ritorno degli imperi (2023), and La nuova guerra contro le democrazie (2024), in which he examines the global challenge posed by authoritarian regimes to the democratic order through five fronts of hybrid warfare. His work focuses on geopolitics, terrorism, and global transformations. He writes for both Italian and international outlets and is a member of the World Economic Forum.
