
Isabella Rossellini, born in 1952, is an Italian-American actress and director. After beginning her career as a model and the face of Lancôme, she gained international fame with Blue Velvet (1986) and Wild at Heart (1990), both directed by David Lynch. She has worked with directors such as Robert Zemeckis, Peter Weir, Guy Maddin, and Abel Ferrara. She created and performed in short film series such as Green Porno, Seduce Me, and Mammas, educational projects on animal behavior. She has directed stage performances and acted in both independent and international films. In 2025, she received an Oscar nomination for Conclave and took part in The Painted Bride by Jeremiah Zagar and The Bitter End by Mike Newell. She lives between New York and her educational farm in Long Island, where she promotes regenerative agriculture.
