Carlo Verdone, born in Rome in 1950, is an actor, director, and screenwriter. He made his film debut in 1980 with Un sacco bello, which earned him the David di Donatello for Best New Director. He has directed and starred in over twenty films, including Bianco, rosso e Verdone, Compagni di scuola, Maledetto il giorno che t’ho incontrato, Gallo cedrone, Ma che colpa abbiamo noi, Posti in piedi in paradiso, and Sotto una buona stella. His comedies often combine sociological insight with melancholy tones. Since 2021, he has created and starred in the series Vita da Carlo, distributed by Amazon Prime Video. He has published autobiographical books and contributed to magazines and television programs.
