
A. M. Homes, born in 1961, is an American writer and screenwriter. She debuted at the age of 19 with the novel Jack (1989), followed by In a Country of Mothers, The End of Alice, Music for Torching, This Book Will Save Your Life, and May We Be Forgiven, winner of the 2013 Women’s Prize for Fiction. She published stories in collections such as The Safety of Objects, Things You Should Know, and Days of Awe, as well as the memoir The Mistress’s Daughter. Her most recent novel, The Unfolding, was published in 2022. She contributes to American and British publications, has written for television (The L Word, Falling Water), and teaches creative writing at Princeton.
