Paolo Giordano

Growing up between the rigors of physics and the liberty of the literary world, he is the youngest Italian writer to win the Premio Strega with his first novel, La solitudine dei numeri primi (The Solitude of Prime Numbers), the book which was a huge best seller in Italy in 2008.  Translated into 30 languages, the book won the Campiello Opera Prima Prize and the Fiesole Prize for Fiction under 40, the Alassio 100 Books – an Author for Europe, and the Merck Serono Literary Prize for fiction. Soon a film directed by Saverio Costanzo will be released based on the novel and adapted together with the author. Giordano received his Doctorate in Research in Theoretical Physics from the University of Turin. He contributes to the newspaper Corriere della Sera, and has a column in the weekly magazine “Gioia”, in which he writes stories based on facts from current events or on numbers.
