“All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.”
This is the first article of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The article then goes on to speak about the reason and conscience of every human being, and desires that each and everyone should act always towards one another in the spirit of brotherhood.
Unfortunately, history and current events teach us that this is all just wishful thinking. However, what personally strikes and invites us to think is the celebration of the very idea of liberty, and the fact that it is considered the first and most fundamental element of existence itself.
