Guido Calabresi
Italian jurist, considered together with Ronald Coase the founder of the economic analysis of law, he is a professor at Yale Law School, where he has held the position of dean, since 1959. Over forty honorary degrees from colleges all over the world have been given to him throughout the course of his career. He was appointed by US President Bill Clinton to the Second Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals in 1994. Yale established the Guido Calabresi tenure of Law in 2006. He has written four books and a large number of legal and related articles. One of the most often quoted scientific works in US legal literature is his essay Property Rules, Liability Rules, and Inalienability: One View of the Cathedral, which was published in 1972.
