Melania Mazzucco
Novelist, raised in Rome in a theatrically connected family. She has a degree in literature and a screenplay degree from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia. In 1992, she published her first piece of fiction in the review Nuovi Argomenti. The novels La camera di Baltus and Lei così amata, a book on the life of Swiss journalist Annemarie Schwarzenbach, were released after she published Il bacio della medusa, finalist for the Strega Prize in 1996. Her work Vita, which was eventually translated into other languages, earned her the Strega prize in 2003. La lunga attesa dell’angelo, Limbo, and Sei come sei are some of her most recent works.
