Noah Baumbach
Director and screen-writer, he started his career in mid-90s, immediately standing out for a peculiarity on his works and being mentioned among Newsweek “New Faces of 1996”. In 2004 è co-wrote Wes Anderson’s Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, and in 2005 his own The Squid and the Whale was nominated to the Academy Awards for best original screenplay. In early 2000s he contributed to some SNL episodes and in 2009 he worked again with Anderson, co-writing Fantastic Mr. Fox, while in 2010 his film Greenberg was nominated for a Golden Bear at Berlin International Film Festival. In 2012, Frances Ha, co-written with Greta Gerwig, premiered at Toronto International Film Festival. While We’re Young and Mistress America, presented at Sundance Festival, followed respectively in 2014 and 2015. In the same year, Baumbach co-directed with Jake Paltrow De Palma, a documentary on director Brian De Palma presented at Venice Film Festival. His latest movie, The Meyerowitz Stories, starring Dustin Hoffman, Emma Thompson, Adam Sandler and Ben Stiller, was distributed by Netflix in 2017.
